Obama is Flunking Economics

We have had a new President for over a month now.  President Obama’s mantra of “change”, the rant we heard all through the election, is coming true.  We do have change, and lots of it.  In a month period of time, we have accomplished the following “change” in America in just the category of Economics.

We are in the worst economic condition as a nation since the 70s.

Wall Street yesterday hit the lowest volume since 1997.

Unemployment is the highest it has been in 20 years.

Consumer confidence is at the lowest point since the Carter era.

Liberal socio-economics is failing, contrary to pre-election promises.

We have “bailed out” banks and other financial institutions, but they are still failing.  And, now we are throwing good money after bad to help them more!

We are positioning to be over a trillion dollars in new debt due to Obama’s economic plans, and with the billions spent so far, the plan is not working.

Earlier this week, the Wall Street Weekly gave President Obama an “F” in the way he is dealing with the economy (http://www.wowowow.com/post/liz-peek-barack-obama-economy-stimulus-214454).

What does this mean?  It sends a very bad signal to us that the same President that wants to take our guns, implement socialist policies, shake hands with our enemies, enrage our allies, pull the troops home before the war in Iraq is won, and give us a lot of social programs we do not want nor do we want to pay for, is failing to deal with a falling US economy, something he promised as a strong point during the campaign.

What are some things that we can do?  This is not a complete listing by any means, but some good places to start.

  1. Obtain and begin to read a Bible, and attend a Bible-believing church for training.  Jesus had a lot to say about practical ways to deal with money.  The Bible is chock full of great teaching, and Biblical training on the economy is one of many issues that can benefit your life.  Besides, those of us that has accepted Jesus as our Lord recognizes that this life here on Earth is not all there is, and that the hereafter is much longer.  Not only do you need to prepare for the here-and-now, but the hereafter as well.  The Bible will help you do that, and the Bible training you can receive at a good church, not to mention the moral support from people who care, is great medicine during times of trouble.

  1. Save money and spend wisely.  Both Dave Ramsey (www.daveramsey.com) and Suze Orman (www.suzeorman.com) can help you save money and spend wisely.  Good financial training is valuable during good times, but when times get tough, you need to make every dollar count.  Both Dave and Suze offer great practical training on how to get out of debt, save money, and survive a tough economy.

  1. Buy guns, magazines, and ammo now, while you can.  If you have any expendable money outside of the basics (and my brothers Jeff and Boge would classify guns and ammo as “basics”), then now is a good time to stock up on guns and ammo.  Yes, many others are doing the same thing, which has led to shortages in firearms from many manufacturers, higher prices, and low availability of ammunition.  But, if Obama gets his way, some guns, ammo, and magazines will be impossible to obtain later.  If you still haven’t got that “must have” gun, and if you haven’t yet stocked up on ammo, then in some cases it may be now or never.  Click on some of the Gunblast.com advertisers (to the left on the home page) to find some of the best products on the market, and visit your local gun dealer or gun show to try and obtain them.

  1. If you have a good job, keep it.  Now is not a good time to be job shopping.  And, it would be a good idea, with companies laying off workers, to make sure your boss knows just how valuable you are to your company.  Managers don’t like getting rid of their best workers; make sure you are in that group of employees.

  1. Contact your local politician and oppose Obama’s liberal socialist plans!  Please, in times like these, you must get involved.  If conservatives don’t stand up and get their Representatives and Senators to stop Obama’s spending plans, then we may all end up broke.  Obama and his political appointees have proven in a month that they cannot effectively deal with the economy.  Every time Obama pushes a new stimulus/socialism bill, the stock market responds by going way down.  Doesn’t this tell all of us that the financial experts and industry leaders do not want big government messing in their business?  Stay on top of your elected officials to make your voice heard.  We do not need these socialist spending plans that may bankrupt our great nation.

  1. Get your concealed carry permit.  If you are eligible to obtain from your State a concealed carry permit, I’d suggest you get on it now.  This is another of the rights of gun owners that the Obama regime is trying to take away from us.  Wait a few months and it may be too late.

  1. Join the NRA.  If you are not yet a member, join.  If you are a member, then upgrade your membership (from Annual to Life, as Boge and I recently did; or from Life to Endowment, as Jeff recently did) or re-up early on a multi-year plan.  The NRA is one of the most powerful lobbying groups in the country.  They support the rights of gun-owners like me and you.  Do your part to help them help all of us.  Join.  Give money if you can.  And follow their lead on insuring that our rights to keep and bear arms are not trampled upon by our liberal federal leadership.

Obama won the Presidency of the greatest nation on earth by saying that he had a plan to deal with the economy.  If this is his plan for the economy, one of his strongest positions during the election, then how well is he going to do in foreign policy, government bureaucracy, 2 wars, healthcare, homeland security, rights of individuals, etc.?  If he received an “F” in areas of strength, how will he do in other areas?

President Obama is our President (unfortunately).  I am a patriot, and embrace the office of the President with respect, as should all Americans.  However, that doesn’t mean we lie down and let an incompetent leader run the country down into the gutter.  I support the office, but not the man.  Obama has proven to be as poor of a leader as we feared he would be.  I know he has only had a month, and I honestly hope and pray that his performance moving forward is much better than it has been thus far.  We need an optimistic but realistic performing President that will do what is best for the entire country.  Since we do not have that in office now, we must do what we can to convince Congress to not go along with these plans to jeopardize our nation.

One final thing we can all do now?  Pray.  Pray hard.  Pray often.
