Obama’s Gangster GovernmentBy Greg QuinnJuly 1st, 2009 On May 6th, Washington Examiner Senior Political Analyst Michael Barone wrote an article entitled, “White House puts UAW ahead of property rights”. While the message of his article was pungent enough, it was his moniker of “gangster government” assigned to the Obama administration that has gotten a lot of political flak recently. Rightly so. Never before have two words been formed together in a more accurate representation of President Obama’s political machine than these, “Gangster Government”. Before you go further with my commentary, read
the piece written by Mr. Barone. How did we evolve as a nation to allowing the President of the United States of America to strip away individual property ownership rights in order to repay political favors? We gun owners have worried for many months about his plan to remove the individual rights of law abiding citizens from owning and carrying guns. We should worry. What Obama is doing now goes so far beyond the removal of gun rights, into actual property ownership rights. If Obama can orchestrate the government ownership of one of the largest corporations in America, and then use this power as leader of this government-owned company to strip individual ownership rights away from those who have purchased them and owned them for many years, then taking firearms and ammunition away from the rest of us is child’s play. First, the US government has no right to own private corporations. The “bailout” of GM and Chrysler was a successful attempt by the Obama administration to own two of the largest corporations in American history. Now that they own them, and Obama is the de facto CEO, then he will do whatever he wants to run these large and powerful organizations in the manner that he sees fit. Step one was government takeover. Complete. Step two is restructuring the organizations, including firing of CEO’s and other officers. Complete. Step three is the removal of assets from one group and providing them to another. Currently underway. All part of his “spreading the wealth”. Read between the lines of Obama’s words during the campaign and since he has been in office and one will quickly realize that this is all part of Obama’s mantra of “change”. Let the government take from you and give it to someone else who believes like we do. The “change we need?” Secondly, the appointment of “czars” to manage different aspects of Obama’s federal government is counter-productive to our system of elected representation. Obama’s “czars” do not answer to your elected Senator or Representative. They answer either directly to Obama or one of his appointees. Therefore, another element of Obama’s “change” is to bypass the entire political system that has been developed since the beginning of our Republic. Third, Obama’s “gangster government” has plans to bypass the checks and balances of our Constitutional Republic system of government in order to get things done his way. By appointment of judges that look at “empathy” instead of law, the Constitution is abased. By bypassing the elected officials and having his decisions carried out by appointed “czars”, the decisions of our nation are based more on one man’s thinking than by representation of the people. If Obama has his way, the last time the people of the United States will have had a say in the process of our government was when the people of America were stupid enough to elect Obama as President. If it is not clear by now, we Americans need to change our glasses. Obama has a plan. All part of his mantra of “change”. Under Obama, America would “change” from a Constitutional Republic form of government, using a democratic process, to one of a dictatorship or “kingship” with Obama and his appointed leaders in charge. Obama wants big government intrusion in our lives. From the manner in which he is giving away money to buy favors, and obtain government control of private organizations (such as banks and car companies), to his programs for healthcare and many other manners, his plan is to have his government control the way we Americans live. This is not the America I know and love. We need to stand up and do something. Contact your elected officials before they no longer have a voice and put a stop to Obama’s czarist government, this “gangster government” as Barone put it. America under Obama is not the “change” we need!
