Keep the Change, You Filthy Animal!By Greg Quinn February 8th, 2010 It’s February now and the beginning of a new decade. It has been about 6 weeks since Christmas, and as per annual tradition, I spent a number of hours watching good holiday movies. I love Christmas movies. Each year I watch a few new ones, and of course the old standbys. Not a year goes by that I don’t watch “Christmas Story”, “It’s a Wonderful Life”, “Scrooged”, “A Christmas Carol”, and at least one of the “Home Alone” movies. One of my favorite quotes from “Home Alone” is when Kevin plays a scene from an old gangster movie that says, “Keep the change, you filthy animal”. Even though it is past Christmas, in light of what is going on in Washington right now, I think this quote is very fitting. “Keep the change, you filthy animal!” This is what we need to be shouting to Washington DC. Congress, “Keep the change”! Obama, “Keep the change”! Obama got elected on a mantra of “change”. And, “change” we have had! We are more in debt as a nation than ever before. And the debt keeps rising! Obama wants to indebt the United States so badly that we can never get out of debt. His healthcare bill alone would have dug a hole so deep we would never see daylight. America doesn’t want it. Yet, he is still trying to push it through. His State of the Union address confirmed his intent to keep us in debt, raise taxes, do nothing to fix immigration, his plan for job creation is wrong, and yet some still think he is right for America. “Keep the change”, Mr. Obama! We do not need your form of change. Obama’s “change” has done some things to our nation. He doesn’t have a plan for ending the war. He doesn’t have a plan for our economy, other than continuing to spend like crazy. He doesn’t have a plan for our long-term stability, as he is putting us in debt to China. His trade plan does not work. His immigration plan is to let everyone in, give them healthcare, and let them vote (of course they would vote for him and others like him). His version of a stable society is to take everyone’s guns and then have the Federal government rule our lives. His jobs plan isn’t creating any jobs; unemployment is higher than anytime in the past decade. Bush got battered for a war when there are more deaths now than when Bush was in office. Bush got bashed for unemployment, yet there are more lost jobs now than when Bush was in office. Bush got attacked for not balancing the budget, but we have more Federal spending now than when Bush was in office (actually, Obama is spending more money than all of the Presidents of the United States combined through Reagan). I feel less safe as a nation under Obama. Obama doesn’t respect the Constitution; look at his policies, his appointment of Czars, and his track record. Obama’s “change” has America in a downward spiral, and we are spinning (and spending at the Federal level) out of control. “Keep the change, you filthy animal”. Congress is made up of people that have been in office so long that they have long forgotten the people whom they are paid to represent. This “good ol boys club” does what they want. They can pass laws to force healthcare upon America, yet they have a good healthcare plan for life. They can pass laws to raise their salaries at a time when many in America are losing their jobs and homes. Integrity has long since left Congress. While there are some good men and women in Congress, and people of high integrity, their numbers are in the minority. We have people like John Edwards who was a candidate for President that had a very immoral lifestyle and lied through his smile to America. We had people like Ted Kennedy that remained in office for 40 years and endorsed the most liberal, anti-Constitutional garbage that ever was spit out by Congress. We have Senators and Representatives that cheat on their wives, cheat on their taxes, say one thing and do another, all the while expecting our support. Congress is in fact made up of many “filthy animals”. With dirty lifestyles and intentions of pushing forward their corrupt political agendas, they misrepresent the people who put them in office for political and financial gain. It’s time we make a statement to Congress. “Keep the change, you filthy animal”. American politics and policies are often truly disgusting. We
were founded upon the principles of God, yet we are moving as far away from God
as any society possibly can. We designed the most perfect
governing platform of any nation in the history of the world, the Constitution,
yet American policies, laws, and politicians of today want to change the
Constitution into something that is totally anti-American. God
teaches us that all life is truly precious, yet we push to kill babies at the
same time that we will lock up an individual for mistreating a dog. We
spend millions to save the whales and many more millions to murder the babies,
Federal dollars that we pay for through our taxes. The tax
system is unfair. The politicians that pass the tax laws are
exempt from the taxes they impose. Right now, 10% of
Americans pay more than 70% of the taxes, and 40% of Americans pay only 1% of
the taxes. How is that right? We muzzle
the ox that is pulling the plow. And the “change” that is
thrust upon us now will take more liberties from individuals, will take more
decisions from the States, and the Federal government will tell us all what to
do. “Keep the change, you filthy animal!”. We
don’t need this kind of change. We do need change. Not Obama’s change. Not the change pronounced by Congress. We need change that directs us back to the Constitution. We need change that refocuses America on what is right about America. We need change that reflects upon the Biblical principals of our founding fathers. We need a military that will fight to win. We need a government that will protect the right of the life of an individual. We need change that promotes job creation through less taxes, not more taxes upon the businesses that create the jobs. We need the safety of secure borders. We need an education system that is run by quality teachers not politically corrupt unions. We need welfare removed from those that can work but refuse to work. We need a lessened tax burden on Americans. We need a quality change for the better, but this is not coming from the Obama camp. The Tea Party movement is happening because Americans are being fed up with the lies, politics, and misrepresentation of power in the White House and in Congress. Something must change, and the Tea Party movement is a proponent of that change. Not the kind of change Obama endorsed, or the change enacted by Congress, but change for the betterment of America. Much like the original tea party, this movement is happening because we are being threatened of pushed too far by the tyranny of the King. This time the king is Obama and his Congress. I have never been more proud to be an American. Yet I
have never been more sickened by American politics. Our
political system currently is absolutely disgusting. May God
help us for putting someone like Obama in office, for continuing to support
Senators and Representatives that do not have the people of America at heart,
for the hypocrisy of American politics, and for turning our back on God.
“Keep the change, you filthy animal!”
